Local volunteers including 4-H and FFA students will help the Allamakee County Historic Preservation Commission complete a Barn Survey in the county in 2007. Barns will be assessed and photographed in an effort to record this disappearing part of the agriculture landscape. A commemorative ceremony was held on Saturday, July 14, at the Allamakee County Fairgrounds in front of an 85-year-old monitor style barn which currently serves as the 4-H Exhibit Building.
